Pre-booked private restaurants
Formerly known as ‘paladars’, Cuba’s privately owned restaurants, are highly recommended and undoubtedly offer the best food. These sought after eateries range from hip to elegant, offer varying cuisines, creative menus, have passionate owners, and are great for foodies. If you’re not in the know, eating out at mediocre restaurants in Cuba is easy to do. They get booked up well in advance, so we recommend our restaurant pre-booking service before travel. Talk to our team for reservations at our favourite recommendations.
5 Sentidos, Havana
Well located in Old Havana, this contemporary and very popular restaurant is perched on the corner of Compostela and San Juan de Dios. There is an extensive menu, with lots of delicious choices including ceviche, meat, and fish dishes as well as vegetarian choices.
OReilly 304, Havana
If you are yearning to try Havana’s best cocktail, then this place is a contender. The signature mango, strawberry, and watermelon daquiris here are amazing, and we challenge you to find a better one elsewhere in the world. The food is excellent, we recommend the tacos, although you will be torn as everything is extremely fresh and tasty and looks good.
Dona Eutimia, Havana
Located close to the Cathedral in the Callejón del Chorro lies this traditional family restaurant where the intention is that you feel like you are relaxing at home. The philosophy here is simple homemade, cooking full of love from the kitchen to the living room.
Jibaro, Havana
Stylish and unpretentious, Jibaro is a local restaurant and a community project and is a great choice for popping in for local and international tapas with a twist plus delicious cocktails. An interesting nook, with friendly staff and talented bartenders. Also, the location for our private cocktail classes, run by a talented mixologist.
Habana Mia 7, Havana
Habana Mia 7, more commonly known as HM7, is located close to the Melia Cohiba hotel, and the Jazz Café is also just around the corner ideal for a pre or post dinner drink. Those who like to eat late and stay up late are in their element here, as this trendy bar and restaurant doesn’t close until 3am. There is an inviting menu with a big focus on flavours.
El del Frente, Havana
The sister restaurant of O’Reilly 304 situated on the opposite site of the street, this hip and happening eatery and bar is a must-visit whilst in Havana. Try to get a table on the rooftop, where the DJ and cool bar area makes this, in our opinion, the best location in the restaurant.
