One of the classic hotels in Old Havana, dating back to 1860 and a landmark on the corner of Prado and Neptuno Street. Rich in character and history, the Hotel Telegraph was a gathering site of the Cuban aristocracy in the early 20th century, ad-hoc headquarter of the Cuban army generals fighting for independence from Spain, events centre for politicians and businessmen in the 1910s, arts gallery during the Revolution. The hotel is even know for being the workplace of one of Havana’s most well-known characters, the Caballero de Paris, and the setting where Alfredo Sosabravo, one of Cuba’s most successful painters of the 20th century, started his work as an artist.
