This hotel is an old favourite of ours in Camaguey due to its location and colourful history which you can feel as soon as you step in.

The Gran Hotel bursting with charm, is located right in the centre of Camaguey, and is ideally situated for exploration the colonial centre on foot. This intriguing hotel first opened its doors in the 1930s and you can almost taste the history in this grand marble residence, where notorious gangsters and Ernest Hemingway once walked up the sweeping staircase and stayed here.

There is an attractive terrace to relax after a day in the city, as well as a small outdoor swimming pool, bar and café, grill and restaurant serving both Cuban and international cuisine.

The main restaurant, La Arcada, serves buffet-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a mix of international and Cuban cuisine. For a la carte options, guests can visit the hotel’s specialty restaurants, El Colonial and El Criollo, which offer Cuban and Creole dishes.

There are also several bars on the premises, including La Sevillana lobby bar, El Criollo bar, and El Bohio pool bar, where guests can enjoy refreshing cocktails and drinks while lounging by the pool.
