Many of our clients see the Union as the place to be seen in Cienfuegos, a colonial style home in the centre of the city. With recent refurbishment it is certainly the most upmarket hotel and we certainly enjoy a few peaceful hours by the small pool escaping the bustle of the city centre. A sunset cool drink on the roof terrace is also something not to be missed
The hotel La Unión is superbly located right in the old part of the city of Cienfuegos. It has a distinctive neo-classical architectural style and is the most historic hotel in the city having first opened in 1869! After welcoming guests for nearly a century after the Revolution it closed, only to reopen fully refurbished in 2000.
Maintaining its colonial style throughout and blessed by a more recent full renovation, the hotel offers a gourmet restaurant, two bars and rooftop terrace with great views through the centre of Cienfuegos to the ocean. The small outdoor swimming pool comes as a welcome addition, especially on hot summer days after a day of exploring. The pool is built into a ground floor courtyard with Romanesque style statues and a classic feel. Hidden away and very peaceful the pool area is certainly one of the main highlights of the hotel.

The 38 standard rooms are very spacious, comfortable and classically furnished. Each has a small balcony and comes equipped with air-conditioning, satellite TV, and a good quality private bathroom.
