The Hotel Melia San Carlos is situated right in the heart of the old part of the city and underwent a full renovation in 2018. The hotel first opened in 1925 and was the city’s main hotel throughout the first half of the 20th century.
The impressive roof terrace is a wonderful highlight for this city hotel. The hotel also features a stylish lobby and comfortable rooms and features retained from its original architecture include the eclectic facade. Inner courtyards, a restaurant and bar have been added during the renovation. The hotel’s décor is much more modern in style than its nearby neighbour the Hotel Union where guests of the Melia San Carlos can use the pool.
