A new addition in 2020 to the portfolio of small boutique style and comfortable hotels in Old Havana, the Palacio Marquez benefits from a fantastic location in a fascinating part of the historic city. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and we like the calm and peaceful atmosphere within the hotel.
The hotel locally known as the ‘Palacio Marquez’ is in a 19th Century former mansion house with a stunning neoclassical façade. From 1929 the building was the HQ of the Cuban Aviation Company and over recent years a careful renovation project was undertaken to bring the building back to its former glory. The hotel was opened in early 2020 to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Havana.
Located in the heart of Old Havana and next to San Francisco Square as well as the restored Plaza Vieja, many of the most delightful and interesting areas of Old Havana are just a short walk from the hotel.
Alongside the 21 rooms the hotel also offers breakfast and a snack bar, 24-hour reception and a reputable cigar shop in the lobby.
