- Excellent Old Havana location
- Small and personable with a boutique feel
- Unique colonial style
- Peaceful rooftop terrace
The Raquel is one of our favourites amongst the small boutique hotels in Old Havana due to its location and beautiful architectural style. We enjoy an evening on the rooftop terrace, an oasis of calm whilst watching the bustle of Havana street life below.
The small, elegant and personable Raquel Hotel is a fine choice in the heart of Old Havana. Amazingly the hotel, built in 1908 was a textile warehouse for many years, which is hard to believe when you see the ornate dome of the central lobby, Art Nouveau-style stained glass roofs and marble columns. Just a brief look around reveals the poignant reference to Jewish culture throughout the hotel and there are wonderful paintings with biblical themes by contemporary Cuban artists.
Located very close to Plaza Vieja and San Fransisco square in the very heart of Old Havana, the Raquel has an enviable location allowing guests the chance to be within easy walking distance of so many important historical sights. The Raquel also has a popular lobby bar, speciality restaurant with Jewish orientated cuisine and peaceful rooftop terrace bar/restaurant with magnificent views and the hotels very own bell tower, perfect for a pre-arranged romantic dinner.

Many of the 25 colonial style rooms have biblical names and all the rooms centre around the impressive central atrium. Tastefully decorated with dark wood, wrought iron furniture, beautiful fabrics and high ceilings. All guest rooms have bright and airy bathrooms.
Four Junior Suites enjoy a larger space and have the added benefit of a small balcony or terrace with views across Old Havana streets.
