A lovely centrally located colonial hotel ideally placed for exploring the area. When in Santiago De Cuba, afternoon tea at the terrace bar is a must! With the hotel next to the famous and highly recommended Casa De La Trova, an evening of the most amazing and authentic music is just a stone’s throw away.
Located right in the very centre of Santiago de Cuba, the traditional Casagranda Hotel oozes colonial Cuban charm and history. Located overlooking Parque Cespedes, one of the most important squares in Cuba, where from the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall), Fidel Castro gave his victory speech after the Revolution on 1st January 1959.
The CasaGranda overlooks the square along with the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Museums of Cuba History and Carnival. In fact, every New Year’s Eve the square comes alive with fireworks, music and dancing and the raising of a huge Cuban flag.
This comfortable hotel albeit a little tired, has a range of services including an excellent rooftop café and bar with fantastic views of the city and surrounding hills, a terrace bar and restaurant directly overlooking the bustle of Parque Cespedes and a more formal restaurant.
