Hotel Telegrafo Highlights
Our Rating ★★★ ½

- Unbeatable location
- Unique mix of contemporary and colonial style
- 24 Hour bar serving local cocktails
- Pavement terrace style cafe
One of the classic hotels in Old Havana, dating back to 1860 and ideally located at the head of the famous Prado Street, the hotel certainly has a distinguished history. The Telegrafo was a gathering site of the Cuban aristocracy in the early 20th century as it possessed Cuba’s only telegraphic cable allowing for direct calls to the USA from all rooms! During the fight for independence from Spain it was the ad-hoc headquarters of the Cuban army generals, and was also a famous art gallery during the Revolution.
The hotel has a distinct and unique style with the lower floors maintaining its original colonial architectural design, but with minimalistic Italian furnishings, exposed original brick beams, and colourful avantgarde local artwork. The higher floors also show a more contemporary style where colourful local art can also be found. The hotel offers comfort and a relaxed environment at the busy heart of Old Havana. All 63 comfortable rooms have stylish, atmospheric furnishings and are equipped with all the modern conveniences of a city hotel.
