Sample Salsa Itinerary
Salsa to your heart's content with 11 magical nights in the heart of Old Havana & 3 nights in the eco-friendly paradise Moka in Pinar del Rio. melt back to the 1920s in Hemingway's hotel with it's live piano bar, and discover the romance of this vibrant city in the company of the world's leading Cuban Dance Company, Raices Profundos. Spoil yourself in class with 21 hours of tuition and 40 hours of the best salsa of your life.
- Day One
Direct flight to Cuba with Virgin Atlantic from Gatwick. On arrival in Havana Airport enjoy a warm welcome by Key2Cuba team and Kerry , and an ice cool Cuba Libre.
Dinner with live band in the romantic Plaza Vieja in the old town get to know everyone and salsa the night away with all the dancers on the rooftop terrace of the hotel. Enjoy stunning panoramic views while you party and sip your free welcome cocktail with top Cuban DJ Chuchu.
- Day Two
Orientation meeting, followed by 3 hours of Cuban Salsa with the world's leading dance company Raices Profundos. Technique, partner work and Rueda-Salsa at 5 levels.
Free afternoon. Time to stroll the streets of Old Havana, sightsee, get a massage or enjoy the live music in the hotel or one of the many nearby bars. Dinner at local Son Club.
Dancing Accompanied by all the dancers at the famous live band venue Casa de la Musica.
- Day Three
2 hours Worlds Class Salsa tuition. Beach party of a life time. Travel down the coast with all the dancers for lunch, dancing to a 10 piece live band on the beach. Visit the Christ statue that overlooks Havana on the way back. Late night Salsa Club accompanied by the top dancers, tour host and a translator.
- Day Four
3 hours Salsa Tuition with celebrity Cuba teachers and the Key2Cuba team. Free afternoon to go sightseeing, visit the pool nearby or have a siesta. Dinner-in the home of a Cuban friend, home cooking Cuban style. Late night dancing at the Bamboleo concert.
- Day Five
Breakfast on the rooftop terrace with stunning views over Havana. Free morning. Afternoon-free Guided Tour of Old Havana with visits to the artisian market, cathedral, shops and museum.
Late afternoon/evening visit to the Salsa Club on the island made of shells. Very popular, beautiful location with all the dancers spoiling you on the dance floor.
- Day Six
3 hours of Salsa classes at 5 levels. Matinee Salsa with live band, in the company of all our dancers in an intimate and lively club. Dinner in the most famous Cuban restaurant.
- Day Seven
Travel up into the mountains of Pinar del Rio to the hotel La Moka set into the mountainside. This eco-friendly paradise is home to a self-sufficient 1000 strong community. Visit the Coffee Plantation. In the evening salsa party with the Cuban Salsa teachers.
- Day Eight
1 hour Salsa Class around the pool area. The whole hotel will be Key2Cuba clients only. Salsa party with live band. Afternoon- Visit the artisan shops in the community including the perfumery, painter, patisserie and relax at the coffee shop.
- Day Nine
Relax, sunbathe and swim in the stunning River for the day. Bask in the naturally formed pools with massages under the cascades and a live band to serenade you while party by the river. There is also a canopy tour by rope through the whole area for the adventures. Evening dinner at the Terrace restaurant followed by dancing in the tree house bar.
- Day Ten
Return to Havana and check into Hemmingway's hotel. Free afternoon the relax. Evening Salsa party with the dancers and Los Van Van playing. Meet the band and get your CD's signed.
- Day Eleven
3 hours of Salsa & Rumba.
Late afternoon-Private Rumba Party with Cuba's leading Rumbers. Dinner at the Gypsy restaurant. Walk home with the dancers along the seafront-dancing, singing and being serenaded by local musicians.
- Day Twelve
Visit the home, studio and Rumba Party of the famous artist -Salvador Gonzalez. Guided by our principle dancer Juan Carlos and our translator, uncover the history of the religion, the dances and the meanings of Santaria. Evening- Dancing with the dancers at an amazing open air Salsa club by the sea. Dance with all the local Salseros too, and one of the famous teachers Michel.
- Day Thirteen
3 hours of Classes
Free afternoon for shopping, visiting museums, tobacco factory and or Rum Museum. Dinner at the Capitola restaurant- great food and live piano. Salsaring 11-6am with Mikael Blanco, the wildest party of the week.
- Day Fourteen
The last Salsa Class, 3 hours with a short ceremony to say thank you and to take photos together. Free afternoon.
The Bembe- A totally off the tourist track exclusive. Enjoy a home cooked meal in a private house of one of the dancers outside of Havana. Salsa with all the neighbours and experience a real Cuman bembe.
- Day Fifteen
Breakfast on the roof top. Farewell to the dancers.
Check out 12PM. 1pm meeting at the reception and transfer to the airport. Flight back to London with Virgin Atlantic, arriving at 09:25am on Thursday.
